artist's note:
While red is the color we most often associate with the Holy Spirit and Pentecost, it is deep orange carnelian that makes me think of the tongues of fire that descended to Jesus's friends that day in the upper room.
When I work with carnelian, I think of being bold and unafraid and passionate. Look closely, and you can almost see the colors of fire in the overall design.
elements:
8mm carnelian, garnet, gold vermeil. Intention bead is carnelian.
